Privacy Policy

Private by design.
Plain about data.

This draft explains what Presence currently needs to connect people—and what it does not collect from their conversations.

The conversation itself

Presence does not record or transcribe calls and does not store their audio or video. Daily processes live media to connect the two participants. Presence stores limited connection metadata, such as participants, mode, timing and call status.

Who controls the data

[LEGAL NAME OF OPERATOR] is intended to be the controller of Presence account and community data. Google, Supabase, Daily and Resend process some data to provide authentication, hosting, calling and notifications. Final processor locations, safeguards and contract links must be confirmed before launch.

Information we use

Only what helps Presence work.

Account

Google account identifier, email, Google name/photo and Presence public name.

Sign-in, account security and keeping one accountable person on each side.

Listener profile

Photo or initials, bio, listening motivation, languages, approval and availability.

Create the public Listener profile and route calls while the Listener is available.

Identity review

Verification method, submission status and temporary verification asset.

Review Listener identity and protect the community. Verification assets are intended to be deleted after review.

Call connection data

Who connected, request type, audio/video choice, timestamps, status, room identifier and duration.

Match people, run the call, show private history, calculate Listener impact and investigate safety issues.

Feedback and messages

Felt-heard response, optional note, previously sent missed-call note, public-appreciation choice, moderation status, and product feedback with your account email. Contact messages include the details you enter.

Improve the experience, privately recognise Listeners, review negative or public submissions, and respond to product feedback or contact requests when needed.

Saved Listeners

The Listener accounts you choose to save for later.

Show your private saved list so you can return to a Listener when they are available. Saving does not notify them.

Safety information

Private blocks; reports and related call details; separate reviewer notes, contact records, decisions, and account restrictions.

Prevent unwanted future calls, investigate concerns, explain decisions, and enforce community rules. A block does not create a report.

Notifications and sign-in

Email address, one-time availability-alert request and delivery status, and essential authentication cookies.

Send requested Listener-availability emails and keep the user signed in securely. Incoming-call alerts appear inside Presence while a Listener has it open.

Session-only support location

An approximate country suggested from the current request IP only when someone opens qualified-support resources, plus any country they confirm or choose.

Suggest relevant external support resources. Presence does not save the raw IP or selected country to the account or database through this feature.

Device-only preferences

Larger-text and reduced-motion choices stored in the browser.

Remember comfort settings on that device. Presence does not receive these settings from local storage.

Why we may process it

Purpose and legal basis.

We use account and call-routing data to provide the service you request and maintain your account.

We use safety, fraud-prevention and limited technical data to protect users and operate Presence responsibly.

We use optional profile photos, public appreciation and one-time availability emails only when you choose those features. You can remove your photo or change appreciation visibility; availability email requests expire after 24 hours.

Your choices and rights

You can edit profile information, pause Listener availability, manage blocks or request account deletion in Settings. Depending on applicable law, you may also request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection, withdraw consent, and complain to a data-protection authority. Contact here@sitwithsomeone.com.

Security and international transfers

Presence uses authentication, access controls, private call rooms and restricted safety review access. No system can promise perfect security. Provider hosting locations and international-transfer safeguards will be documented here after the operator and launch regions are chosen: [TRANSFER MECHANISM / REGIONS].

Cookies and local storage

Essential, not advertising-led.

Supabase authentication uses essential cookies to keep signed-in sessions secure.

Presence stores larger-text and reduced-motion preferences locally on your device.

The current MVP does not include behavioural advertising or advertising cookies. If analytics or non-essential cookies are added, this section and any required consent controls must be updated first.

Changes and contact

We will update the effective date and provide reasonable notice of material changes. Questions, requests or complaints can be sent to here@sitwithsomeone.com. Relevant regulator:[DATA PROTECTION AUTHORITY AND CONTACT].
